Top 11 Best Cat Urine Removers Reviewed
Now that you have a better understanding of how we came to our top picks, you’re probably eager to see them! Here are our top 11 picks for best cat urine removers:
What To Consider Before Buying Stain & Odor Eliminators?
As you can see from reading this article, there’s a wide range of choice on the market and a lot to consider when shopping for pet stain & odor removers. Different products may suit your needs depending upon the frequency and location of the problem you have. The environment in which the problem occurs, as well as your own personal needs and point of view, may affect your choice as well.
Safety First
Make sure whatever stain and odor remover you choose is completely safe for use around people and pets. Many of these products are non-toxic but most come with a warning that they should not be applied directly to the pet.
It follows that those products that carry some kind of safety warning are probably more powerful and effective in tackling tough and persistent odor but are more than likely only suitable for commercial use. They may not be ideal for confined spaces such as apartments, or in situations where young children are present.
Some of the products in the list above are industrial formulas designed as all-round products for use not just on urine stains, but any animal related cleaning care both inside and outside the home.
Know What You’re Buying
There’s a significant difference between prepared mixtures, which are mixed and ready to use immediately, and concentrates, which require the user to measure out and mix with a specified amount of water before they can be applied to the affected area.
Concentrates save both time and money but require additional steps before being administered. If real ease of use is high on your list of priorities, choosing a product that comes ready mixed and in a spray bottle may be the best course of action.
Several of the products listed here come in such a bottle and most pet owners tend to go for these over the concentrate, which is more suitable for people running commercial ventures or those with several animals at home to care for.
Product Types
Spray applicators also have the added advantage of being most suitable for small spaces, hard-to-reach areas, and for fabrics.
For example, curtains, soft furnishings, and bedding are much easier to treat using a spray bottle (especially when it comes to vertical stains), while mixing concentrate into a mop bucket is easier for covering large areas of hard flooring or outdoor spaces such as kennels and runs.
There is one product on the list which is completely different from all the others and requires a special mention.
Arm & Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer is a powder rather than a liquid and is therefore set apart from the other products in this range. Rather than cleaning up stains, it is more suitable for preventing smells emanating from the cat’s litter box itself.
This is therefore really a secondary product in that you would need one of the others to deal with external mess. At the same time, it’s a useful tool to keep the litter box fresh and encourage your pet to continue to use this space for its personal hygiene routine.
Cost
Whatever product you decide to invest in for tackling urine stains and odor in the home, you’ll find the price range of these products relatively narrow. Prices start at just under $10 and rise to around $50 for the commercial brands that come in larger sizes (gallons).
When shopping for pet stain and odor remover, don’t just look at the product’s price tag. Keep in mind that some products are concentrated while others are ready to use, and the volume of product may vary from one brand to another.
No matter what product you choose, it’s important to deal with pet stains and odor quickly and effectively. Cat owners should keep an arsenal of high-quality cleaning products at the ready so you can tackle messes as soon as they happen and prevent lingering odor.

The smell is always there but the products you have stated will work wonders!
Thanks again 🙂
Angry orange contains orange oil, which is toxic to cats (and many other pets). And since cats self-groom, anything that they could step on or rub against could be ingested. Please don’t recommended pet products that contain citrus oils!
Hi Carly, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I’ll be looking into the safety of this product and whether or not we need to replace it.
What is the result of the follow-up on Angry Orange? Carly made a great point back in 2021. I need an answer! Please.
Hi Laurel, it’s still inconclusive—everything says that Angry Orange is safe for cats, but I have no confirmation from studies or anything backing that up.
The fact that you believe Sales material over common sense, makes me not even bothered to read your article. You’re obviously button paid for.
We understand your concern, Kel. I’ve flagged this article for our veterinary team to review the marketing claims to see if there are products we should remove or replace.
