Sourcing And Manufacturing
Blink is very explicit in saying that most of their ingredients come from Britain. The exception is tuna which is not native to British waters. However, the fish in their pouches are sourced from Marine Stewardship Council (MCS) sustainable sources.
All of their British suppliers support the EU’s “Five Freedoms.”
According to Blink, they only source and include the best proteins, such as chicken breast, duck fillets, and salmon fillets. They use natural shredded meat and fish fillets. They do not use derivatives, cereals, or cheap fillers. There are no added sugars or salts in their foods. The foods are grain-free.
The foods contain 60 percent real meat and fish fillets.
To make sure their foods are complete, Blink adds a healthy blend of 21 vitamins and minerals. Only key vitamins and minerals are noted on foods under EU legislation but all are included in the recipe.
Their company is located in Northhamptonshire and that’s where their meals are made.
Blink delivers to mainland UK and Northern Ireland at this time. Delivery to the Highlands and islands in Scotland can take a little extra time.
Has Blink! Cat Food Been Recalled?
As far as we could determine, Blink cat foods have not had a recall. Blink customer service has stated on their Facebook page that they are not involved in the summer 2021 UK recall of several brands of cat food relating to pancytopenia.

Great food, amazing customer service!
Our three senior boys have been licking their bowls clean ever since we switched to Blink! Bought it initially through a supermarket but have now switched to buying it directly using their subscription service. It’s fantastic to have found a good quality cat food and the high protein content has definitely been helping our newly diagnosed diabetic kitty gain weight.
Customer service has been amazing – our delivery went missing in transit and this was sorted out super speedily by their lovely team. Happy cats, happy humans! – by Sara on Jul 13, 2021
My cat loves Blink – there’s not a flavour he doesn’t enjoy. I like how the food actually looks the right colour and texture for the type it is (fish flakes like fish, chicken looks like chicken) as opposed to the sorts of cat food that say chicken but are dark brown and a minced beef texture. We did the trial, stopped to do a Katkin food trial (which my cat was super unimpressed with – although he loved the “sprinkles”), and are going back to Blink, as it’s clearly his favourite. – by Babs on Jul 12, 2021

Requests ignored, wasting my money
My cat won’t eat tuna, she just won’t. I asked Blink to remove Tuna from the order but received 8 pkts. I asked to delay order but it turned up. They don’t listen – by Jackie on Jul 8, 2021

Everything else for the product is perfect: the packaging, the marketing, the simpleness of ordering, etc. However, all my cats were experiencing diarrhoea while switching to these wet foods. They did not have the same problem with other wet foods from other brands. I tried to switch from Applaws to Blink gradually and carefully, but ended up with all four getting sad tummies. Had to cancel the service. They may be great for you, but not my cats. – by Jing on Jun 1, 2021

How Much Does Blink! Cat Food Cost?
Purchased in stores, Blink cat food sells for around £7.50 for a box of 8 pouches of food. Each pouch is 85 grams (about three ounces).
Via Blink’s subscription service, a monthly box of 28 pouches costs £25. A box of 56 pouches costs £48. And, a box of 84 pouches costs £70. There are no extra shipping charges with the subscription service. They are included in the service.
Overall, Is Blink! Cat Food A Good Choice?
Yes, Blink appears to be a very good quality cat food. It is very high in animal protein from meat, poultry, and fish. And, it has no grains or added salt and sugar.
Some customers have said their cats don’t like the food and the company has suggested this may be because the cats are used to the sugar and salt in other cat foods. It might take some cats a little while to get used to this food since it is more natural.
How Do You Order Blink! Cat Food?
You can order Blink’s subscription service, if you live in the UK, on their web site. A trial box is available with six pouches of food for £1. After you order the trial box, you have 12 days before your subscription kicks in. You can adjust or cancel your subscription in that time. One trial box per household and person.
My cats love this food! We introduced it slowly to wean them off their old food, which after researching were full of meat derivatives etc. I’m so glad we switched to this food, you can see our cats are happier and healthier. Even though Blink is on the pricier side, i’d rather pay a small amount more a month to know my cats are eating the best and will live long happy lives!
Nice—it’s good to hear that it’s working for you.
My cat a Burmese is 15yrs old and loves blink any other premium cat food gives him runs my only complaint is I cannot chicken and salmon pouches loose .pets at home stopped selling them .i have to buy boxes and he don’t care for tuna .
Hm, that’s concerning. Thanks for sharing, Judy!
Hey Judy, my kitten eats Blink too. I would definitely suggest you to buy directly from their website as it allows you to fully customise your pouches. Their website is www,blinkcats.co.uk
I’ve been co-feeding my kitten Blink! and Acana kitten dry food as well as boiled salmon and chicken breasts once a week, she’s very healthy and has a really soft and shiny coat. Her breath smells fine (compared to the 13 other cats back at my parents – royal canine diet) which is definitely a good sign. She’s never had a problem with excreting and her stool always comes out smoothly. Blink subscription is really easy to manage and you can customise the flavours according to your pets. Customer service is one of the best, I had a Large parcel came in (84 pouches) but 8 pouches/1 flavour entirely was missing, emailed them the unboxing proof and I was sent a whole replacement package (84 pouches!) within 3 days “due to the inconvenience” which they really didn’t have too. I donated the previous parcel to a foster and kept the replacement package afterwards, now all of my cat parent friends are subscribed to blink lol
Hi all, I am feeding my 2 year old cat and he loves it but yes, it is expensive, anyone suggest another company with all or similar ingredients that are cheaper?
Hi Gersh, you might appreciate our article on the best cat food in the UK.
