About Pretty Please Cat Food
Daniel Rotman is the founder and CEO of Pretty Litter which has been marketed as “the world’s smartest cat litter.” The company was founded in 2015 and was acquired by Mars in May of 2021.
Pretty Litter is a health monitoring cat litter that changes colors to provide insight into your cat’s health based on the pH of his urine. Pretty Please is the dry cat food manufactured and sold by Pretty Litter.
Sourcing and Manufacturing
Pretty Please is a proprietary formula that, according to the brand, contains “a host of feline nutritionist-designed ingredients formulated to keep cats optimally healthy, energetic, strong, and living long.”
While Pretty Please is manufactured in the USA, the Pretty Litter website doesn’t provide much in the way of specifics about ingredient sources or manufacturing processes. One the packaging, you’ll simply find the statement, “Made in the USA with the finest ingredients from around the world.” Given the fact that Pretty Litter was acquired by Mars, Inc. in 2021, it’s safe to assume that Pretty Please is produced in one or more Mars-owned facilities in the US.
In terms of the ingredients themselves, Pretty Please contains 24 essential vitamins and minerals along with probiotics and prebiotics. There don’t appear to be any by-product meals, artificial additives, or other highly controversial ingredients.
Recall History
Pretty Litter is a fairly new company, having only been founded in 2015, and Pretty Please was only released within the last few years. The product has not been affected by any product recalls to date.
While Pretty Please has a clean recall history, the recent acquisition by Mars, Inc. is worth keeping an eye on. Mars, Inc. owns and manufactures other popular pet food brands like Whiskas, Royal Canin, Sheba, and Iams.
According to Healthy Pet Products, Mars Petcare has recalled over 1.8 million pounds of dry and wet pet foods over the last 8 years alone. We weren’t able to determine exactly where Pretty Please is manufactured, however, so we can’t say for sure whether quality and safety are likely to be an issue.
What Kinds of Cat Food Does Pretty Please Offer?
The Pretty Please brand currently only includes a single recipe of cat food. Pretty Please is designed to be an add-on to a new or existing Pretty Litter subscription.
There currently is no option to order Pretty Please as a stand-alone product through the company website. Since Pretty Litter was acquired by Mars, Inc., the product has become available in Target and Walmart stores, so the same may eventually be true of Pretty Please cat food.
Pretty Please is a dry cat food formula made primarily from chicken and turkey meal. It is a grain-free formula designed for cats in all life stages.
What Do Customers Think Of Pretty Please Cat Food?
Pretty Litter is an incredibly popular product, so it’s no wonder the brand decided to expand by creating their own cat food. Popular cat litter brand Dr. Elsey’s did the same thing. Whereas Dr. Elsey’s has been in business since 1989, Pretty Litter is less than a decade old.
Not only is the Pretty Litter brand still in its infancy, but their dry cat food is even newer. I wasn’t able to find any significant number of customer reviews outside the Pretty Litter website. Though I couldn’t find many reviews for Pretty Please itself, reviews for Pretty Litter and the brand itself are abundant.
On the Better Business Bureau website, Pretty Litter has a number of complaints regarding poor customer service. Some customers complained about delayed shipments which is something I experienced with my own order. The order confirmation email included the following disclaimer: “Due to global shipping delays, it may take a little longer for your order to arrive.”
My order took about 10 days to arrive which isn’t horrible but is certainly much longer than expected, especially in comparison to major retailers like Chewy and Amazon. In regard to claims about poor customer service, I didn’t personally have any issues.
When I didn’t see an option to purchase Pretty Please as a stand-alone product I used the chat function on the website and was able to speak to a representative quite quickly. It’s certainly a little annoying that you have to first order Pretty Litter in order to be able to buy the food, but once your subscription is started you can remove Pretty Litter and keep buying the food if you want.
What Did Our Test Cats Think?
My order from Pretty Litter took 10 days to arrive and came in a standard cardboard box with no extraneous packaging. Pretty Please is sold in 5-pound bags and comes in a resealable bag.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the bag of Pretty Please is that it had a strong (not unpleasant) aroma. In fact, I had the bag sitting on my desk and my dog, Archie, wouldn’t stop staring and whining at it for a good 10 minutes. He clearly thought it smelled tasty.
My cats were immediately interested in the food and were perfectly happy to chow down as soon as the bowl hit the floor. I did notice that the kibbles are much smaller than average. It certainly wasn’t a problem for my cats and may even be a benefit for kittens or older cats.

How Much Does Pretty Please Cat Food Cost?
You can only purchase Pretty Please cat food as an add-on to a new or existing Pretty Litter subscription. When you start a new Pretty Litter subscription, you can get a bag of Pretty Please for $14.99. After your first delivery, however, the regular price is $25 per bag.
Pretty Please recommends feeding an 8-pound cat about ½ cup of food per day. At the regular cost of $25 per bag, that averages to a daily feeding cost around $1.25 per day.
Overall, Is Pretty Please Cat Food a Good Choice?
Pretty Please appears to be an above-average dry cat food in terms of ingredient quality and carbohydrate content, but it isn’t outstanding.
This recipe is rich in animal protein from high-quality sources like chicken and turkey meal, but it also contains several unnecessary plant ingredients including starchy peas and tapioca. The total carbohydrate content is lower than average for a dry food, but it may not be low enough to justify the cost. At $25 a bag, Pretty Please won’t break the bank but it’s significantly more expensive than similarly-rated brands like WholeHearted or Health Extension.
The best reason to buy Pretty Please is if you’re already a Pretty Litter customer and you want to simplify your life. It’s convenient to be able to purchase your cat litter and cat food from the same company, and Pretty Litter is a high-quality product we recommend anyway.
As a standalone product, Pretty Please isn’t our top choice for cat food, especially considering the lack of information about ingredient sourcing and manufacturing. Based on the information available, however, we didn’t see any major red flags and the ingredients list seems fairly well balanced.
Where Is Pretty Please Cat Food Sold?
Pretty Please cat food is currently only sold through the Pretty Litter website. You’ll need to start a new Pretty Litter subscription to buy it or add Pretty Please to an existing subscription. You cannot purchase Pretty Please on its own unless you have an existing subscription.
My cat is very picky, but he really loves PrettyPlease. It is a bit expensive, but worth it. His litter box rarely smells. I also noticed he is not constantly draining his water bowl. On his old food, he was constantly always out of water, worried me. I was told to switch food and since I already use their litter I got a sample, and OMG he was sooooo happy. Wags his tail and talks (Siamese) when he hears the bag LOL. This a keeper!!!!!
Thanks for the input, Rina! We’re glad you love it!
I do not want the litter food only
My cats love it
Can you tell me how to order pretty please ONLY
Unfortunately, Pretty Litter won’t let you order the food only unless you already have an account. You’ll need to order the litter once and tack on the food. After that first order, however, you can remove the litter and buy food only.
My cats love this over others. I love the fact their poops are all constant
in size and odorless…a win win.
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Want to cancel my orders of pretty please and keep getting the pretty litter.
Hi William! You can make adjustments to your subscription by logging into your Pretty Litter account. Hope this helps!
Why should I have to do this when I didn’t order the pretty cat food in the first place . Y’all took upon to send me the food, all I wanted was the cat litter.
Sorry William, we are an independent informative site. We have no affiliation with Pretty Litter, we just do reviews. You’ll need to interact with the company directly.
What is your recommendation for the best dry cat food on the market? Also… best wet food?
I give wet food for breakfast & dinner with dry for afternoon and night grazing.
Thank you for your time.
DA
Hi Debrann, thank you for the question! You can find in-depth answers to both of these questions in the following articles:

I was wondering if you could do an updated review on Pretty Please Cat food, they’ve come out with more food recently but I don’t know if I want to give it to my cats since there isn’t anything on here lol. If there is a specific place to request brands, please let me know haha! Love the work ya’ll do
Hello Liz, this is the right place to come with these requests! Sure, we’ll plan to update this article in the near future. Thank you!
Please stop sending me any more cat food I canceled these orders a few months ago stop no more I will call my bank to put stop on anymore. Carolyn miller
Hi Carolyn, really sorry you’re going through this. As a cat product review publisher, we cannot cancel your order. You’ll have to contact Pretty Litter customer support directly. Here’s their contact page.
The cats in our house loves Pretty Please. They also don’t puke as much. This is great as 1 of the 2 rescues we have has a very sensitive stomach. We also give wet cat food that comes in pouches a few times a week and use a ceramic water fountain with refrigerator filtered water.
My 1st litter order was April 2018. I will admit that delivery and ordering with Pretty Litter is a comparative nightmare…it has sorta gotten better with my last delivery (1.20.23). There customer service has been great over the years with fixing any mistakes.I order litter every 3 months, 12 bags at a time as we have 3 cats. The cat food is suppose to ship with it. That is a hit and miss. I have had cats for over 50 years and tried every new litter that came on the market. I like the crystal litters the best. I even put up with Litter Pearls for awhile. Nothing like having mini marbles all over the floor! This is the best litter ever and the tracking is not as bad as others, it sweeps up easily and doesn’t seem to clog the vacuum cleaner (yet).
How do i return a box of the cat food. I want to stop any other orders of tge dry cat food. I have too many
You’ll have to contact the company: https://www.prettylitter.com/contact-us
Both (Siamese/Tonkinese) cats seem to enjoy this kibble. Hoping it helps with litter box odor as it states.
Target has it on mark-down and questioning Why? Hope there’s not a recall.
Your website is horrible. Why can’t I just buy cat food, dry, by the bag when I don’t want treats or wet cat food.
Hi Ron. We don’t sell cat food; you’ll need to take this up with the company behind Pretty Please. See their contact page here.
I want my Pretty Please Cat Food order stopped. My cat won’t eat it.
Good pet food is so important!! This sounds like great pet food for cats, I know our pets are part of our family.Thank
Dropping my subscription asap! Other litters and cat food brands are less expensive and same quality. Don’t see justification for buying this brand.
No harm in shopping around!
