Experience
I am a vet with over 10 years' experience in the veterinary industry and a background in not only clinical practice, but also education and research.
In 2008 I was awarded a First Class BSc in Veterinary Pathology from the Royal Veterinary College, London. I qualified as a vet from the University of Liverpool in 2010 and in 2017, completed a combined clinical and research postgraduate Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVetMed) at the University of Nottingham.
I have worked in education for 8 years. I currently hold the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at Nottingham Vet School and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
Whether in the classroom, consulting room or presenting at a conference, at the core of every one of my best days at work is veterinary communication.
I thrive when given the chance to communicate my expertise in real-world settings, to inform and engage those who live and work with animals, and empower them to make the best decisions for animal health and wellbeing.
About
Outside of work I'm kept busy running after my two children and two dogs. I have two rescue cats - Plum who I hand-reared from 24 hours old and Gilbert, who only has 3 legs! On the odd occasion I find time, I like doing exercise (running, bike riding) and spending time with friends and family.
